Heavy shipments from 35 kg flown on scheduled domestic airline cargo between Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and Port Elizabeth, with collection and delivery at both ends.
South Africa's airlines carry cargo in the hold of scheduled domestic flights between the main cities. Most people never use it, because it's sold airport to airport and you have to lodge and collect at the cargo terminal yourself. Uplift Freight wraps a truck around each end, so you get airline speed with door-to-door convenience.
| City | Airport | Code |
|---|---|---|
| Johannesburg and Pretoria | O.R. Tambo International | JNB |
| Cape Town | Cape Town International | CPT |
| Durban | King Shaka International | DUR |
| Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha) | Chief Dawid Stuurman International | PLZ |
The price depends on the route, the weight and size of each piece, and the suburbs at each end. Size matters as well as weight: a large, light item takes up space in the hold, so always send the measurements with your enquiry. Add your shipment on the quote form and we reply with one fixed price that covers collection, the flight and delivery.
Dangerous goods such as lithium batteries, fuel, gas cylinders, aerosols, paint and some chemicals need airline approval, and some can't fly at all. Items also need to fit through the aircraft's cargo door. If something can't fly, we can send it by road freight.
We fly every route between Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and Port Elizabeth, in both directions. See all routes.
For heavy items over long distances it's often cheaper than express road couriers, because airline cargo rates are charged per kg rather than with steep parcel surcharges.
